Jon Huntsman's r?sum? is pretty evolved, including Governor of Utah, US Ambassador to China, and recently an attempt at the White House. However, there is a new industry on the horizon for Jon, and it's the auto industry. Sources claim that Huntsman will be a new member of Ford Motor Company's Board of Directors, and this is going to happen very soon.
Not only does the 51 year old Huntsman's resume include the above, but he is chairman of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, giving him experience with boards.
"Jon brings to Ford's board of directors extensive global knowledge and experience - particularly in Asia with trade issues - and operational experience gained as governor of Utah, a state that has grown jobs even during the economic crisis," explained Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford. "Jon understands the importance of strengthening the country's manufacturing base, which will contribute to our success going forward."1
At Manhattan Ford in New York, NY, we look forwards to seeing what this multi-faceted man can bring to this American auto company that seems to continually rise. His history with China could be a great stepping platform to really work Ford into the Chinese market, and maybe incorporate new technologies.
As a two-term Utah Governor and a White House Staff Assistant to Ronald Reagan, Huntsman surely has the know how to get things done with Ford.
